Hey, what are you looking at buddy? Where'd you get those glasses?

Hello. I’m Jeremy Carrus, “Jerm,” a St. Louis–based artist specializing in hand-drawn poster art and illustration. I’ve created posters for Alice Cooper, Collective Soul, Lady Gaga, GWAR, and Viagra Boys, among others. At the core, though, I just love making hand drawn things that feel alive. Ink, paper, and intention.
I’ve been drawing since I was a kid, like a lot of artists. Filling pages, chasing ideas, figuring things out line by line. That path eventually led me into design, where I spent years building digital experiences. Over time, though, I felt the pull back toward something more tactile and honest, so I returned to pen and paper.
Now, every mark matters. Every line and every color is deliberate. There’s no undo button, only decisions. Accidents still happen, but they become part of the story. I make the call, I stand by it, and it becomes part of the work.
One of the questions I get asked most is whether my posters are “official.” As a music fan myself, I completely understand that mindset. We all want to know we’re getting something connected to/created by the band and the experience we care about.
The truth is, some of my work does become official and some of it doesn’t. Either way, I approach every piece with the same level of care and professionalism. Instead of trying to create what I think the band would want, I focus on making artwork from my own interpretation of the music and the atmosphere surrounding it. Every poster becomes a way for me to translate what a live show feels like through my own creative lens.
So why do I give away 10 posters at every show? Because I love the connection it creates with other fans. There’s something special about surprising someone with a piece of art they weren’t expecting. I love that small moment becoming part of their memory from that night. It turns the poster into something more than merchandise. It becomes part of the experience.
I’m a lot of things, and maybe someday I’ll share the full list. For now, I’ll leave you with this: I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
If something here resonates with you, whether you’ve got a question or a project in mind, I’m always up for a conversation.
